Ingredients

1 pound ground beef

1/2 cup onions, chopped

1 garlic clove, minced

1 tabl. chili powder

1 tsp. cumin

1/2 tsp. oregano

1/2 tsp. sea salt

1/4 tsp. pepper

1 cup tomato sauce

6 taco shells

1 large tomato, chopped

1-1/2 cups lettuce, shredded

1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Sour cream (if desired)

Directions

In a medium bowl, blend together beef, onion, garlic, chili powder, cumin, oregano, salt, and pepper.  In a large nonstick skillet, cook meat mixture over medium-high heat stirring to break up lumps, until bowned, about 5 minutes. Add tomato sauce and bring to boil. Reduce heat and simmer, stirring occasionally, until mixture is thickened, about 10 minutes.  To assemble tacos, fill each shell with one quarter of meat mixture. Top each with 2 tablespoons chopped tomato, 1/2 cup shredded lettuce, and 1 tablespoon shredded cheese.  

 

Add sour cream (optional)
