1 medium onion, diced

1/2 cup milk

1 egg, beaten

1 tabl. cornstarch

1 tsp. sea salt

1/4 tsp. nutmeg

1/4 tsp. allspice

1/4 tsp. ground ginger

dash pepper

1 1/2 pds. ground beef 

3-4 tabl. butter



1 tabl. butter

1 cup beef broth

2 tabl. flour

1/2 cup half and half cream

 sea salt and pepper to taste

Minced fresh parsley (optional)


In a bowl, combine the first 9 ingredients; add beef and mix well. Shape into 1 1/2 inch meatballs (mixture will be very soft.) In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the meatballs in butter, half at a time, for 10 minutes or until no longer pink.  Turn to brown evenly. Remove to paper towels to drain, reserving 1 tabl. drippings in skillet for gravy.


Gravy:  Add butter to drippings. Stir in flour. Add broth and cream, cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened and bubbly. Season with salt and pepper. Reduce heat to low. Return meatballs to skillet; heat through. Garnish with parsley if desired.
