1 large onion, chopped

1/3 cup lentils, uncooked

1 1/3 cup water

2 tabl. ketchip

1 tsp. garlic powder

3/4 tsp. chili powder

1/2 tsp. ground cumin

1 can pinto beans

1 can kidney beans

1 bay leaf

1/4 tsp dried red pepper flakes

1 can (16 oz.) tomatoes, chopped with liquid


Put all ingredients in large (5 qt.) sauce pan and being to a boil; cook for 45. Stirring occasionally.  Serves 8-10

Note*  Remove bay leaf before serving
