Method

  1. Cream Crisco and sugar together, add well-beaten egg, milk, vanilla, flour, baking powder, salt, and raisins.

  2. Mix well, turn into a greased mold, and bake for 25 minutes in a moderate oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit (or steam for 1.5 hours).

  3. To make sauce: mix flour, sugar, and Crisco in a small saucepan, stir in egg and boiling water, and boil for 3 minutes.
